A lower global warming potential (GWP) alternative to R-410A, used in new air conditioning and heat pump systems. R-454A is a mildly flammable A2L refrigerant with good efficiency and performance characteristics. It has a lower operating pressure than R-410A and exhibits a small temperature glide due to its zeotropic nature. Because of its flammability rating, it must be used in equipment specifically designed and approved for A2L refrigerants. POE lubricant is required.
